
Oji Bazemore
With over 17 years in long-term recovery, Oji brings a powerful blend of lived experience, clinical training, and deep compassion to the field of behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. Currently serving as a Client Care Coordinator at Assure Recovery Center, Oji plays a pivotal role in guiding individuals through their recovery journeys with empathy, structure, and support.
Oji has held several impactful roles throughout his career, including Peer Support Specialist, Peer Recovery Coach I & II, and Case Manager. He has worked extensively with chronically homeless populations in San Diego’s Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) programs, as well as with justice-involved individuals and those experiencing serious mental illness (SMI). His work reflects a deep commitment to meeting people where they are and helping them move toward stability and self-sufficiency.
As a Registered SUD Counselor currently working toward full certification, Oji continues to expand his clinical expertise while staying rooted in the principles of recovery, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care. His work is grounded in authentic connection and a strengths-based approach, making him a trusted advocate, mentor, and resource for both clients and colleagues.
