Paul McBride

My name is Paul McBride and I am a certified CATC III Substance Use Disorder Counselor. I have a BS in addiction studies and am currently working on a masters in Social Work. I also have lived experience in both substance use disorder and mental health. I have been working in the field for 10 years and have had the opportunity to work with many different populations in many different settings. I would say that my strengths are my empathic counseling styles while also allowing the client to have autonomy to make their own decisions. 

My teaching style is one with a lot of metaphors to help clients understand the basics of substance use disorder and the negative affects it can have on all aspects of life including health, spiritual, social life, and mental health. My goals are to one day start my own practice which would include an all encompassing treatment team with physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, case manager, social worker, and SUD counselor in one location.
